    Biskupin - well-known archaeological museum and reservation in Middle Europe. Excavations on Lake Biskupin peninsula were initiated in 1934. It was the first prehistoric site in Poland with a vast scale organized research using modern techniques, methodologies and interdisciplinary activity. Wooden remains of the fortified settlement from VIII c. BC have been found in an excellent state of preservation, because of wetland, wood protecting conditions. Biskupin has been called “Polish Pompeii” as well Stone Age Weekend with Stone Age We invite you to the first Weekend with Stone Age. Within archaeological reservation in Biskupin, in term 18th-19th of June, in a brand new reconstructed Stone Age hunters camp, Mesolithic Hunters Group from Poznań will present the activity joined with showing some aspects of material culture of our remote Stone Age forefathers. Here below you will find attractions of the Weekend programme; - erecting Mesolithic shelter hunters workshop (bow & javelin thrower) archaeological experiments flint knapping deer hide elaborating plaiting techniques fishing primitive techniques hunters & gatherers cooking archaeomusic workshop the oldest pottery. If any visitor will appear in a proper dress – according to the presented epoch – a prize should be a really surprise.
