Customer Ratings: - Works well but heats up quite a bit. I purchased this as a replacement bulb for my mini maglite. Overall, I m pleased with it, but give it only 4 stars due to it heating up so much. My original light did not get very hot at all. This one heats up quickly and is quite hot. Seems to work well though and is nice and bright.
- Mag Replacement Bulbs. So, I had this AA battery Mini Maglite that had been sitting in my nightstand for a couple of years, see? The darn thing simply stopped workin one day. In a cleaning frenzy one day, I gathered it up with an assortment of magazines, a dried floral arrangement & a Slinky that was all tangled up & dumped all into the trash.
Seeing the Mag Lite join the other rubbish, I decided to reclaim it & see if I could somehow give it a new lease on life & put the item in my pants pocket. Later that evening, I sat at my P/C & feeling its presence, decided to see if Amazon might offer the bulbs in question.
Lo and behold, I found what I was lookin for in no time, placed my order & in a few short days had the bulbs in my old Mag Lite. I twisted the top and was greeted with the beautiful sight of a bright, steady steam of light!
This is a great deal! - Mag Instrument LM2A001 Replacement Lamp. Replaced lamp in light and it worked great. Shipping was rather high and I should have orderd several.
- Great bulbs, but nothing beats LED. These bulbs can run for five hours on two AAs, they last about three months of good use before burning out. This is very good compared to some flashlights, espcially since most cheap flashlights don t allow bulb replacement like the Mag. But for eight dollars, you can get a Nite Ize LED adapter for the AA Mini Mag that gives you twenty hours of light off those same batteries and literally a hundred thousand hours of bulb life. Save yourself the money on bulbs and batteries, pick up an LED, you ll never have to hunt online for bulbs again. Yes, it s a great flashlight and bulb. But for the price of four of these, you ll never have to buy another set of bulbs again, and and top of that you ll save handfuls of cash on batteries. Even if you just need an emergency flashlight, four times the battery life and unlimited bulb life isn t exactly shabby during a power outage.
- Watch-out for similar products (non-Maglite). MAGLITE model#LM2A001 2-Cell AA is an excellent match for your mini Maglite Flashlight. Watch out for products claiming to work such as Rayovac 2-T1AAA they are suppose to be compatible with both the double A and triple A configuration. Guesse what... they burn out quickly!
