Customer Ratings: - Beats tablets and filters.... This was my first non-filter treatment while on the trails, as I wanted to find something that I knew would be effective and lightweight without tasting horrible. Took it on a quick overnight before heading out on a 4 day trek. After treatment, water tastes like it came straight from the tap (so much better than iodine - yuk). Much easier to deal with than a filter (ever almost drop your filter in a stream?). The solution is yellow when active, so you can make sure it s still good before you hit the trails. This would easily supply a person 8 days of water (4L a day). it is in a dark glass bottle, but comes complete with directions, a measuring spoon and a plastic carry-all container. Many uses as a disinfectant, too. One of the best multi-purpose supplies which now lives in my pack.
- Water Treatment. Took this backpacking in the Sierras a couple of weeks ago along with a water filter/pump. Also took this product while hiking Mt. Whitney to minimize weight and used it after we had to treat water. Since I don t like the taste of Iodine with most water treatment products, this was a nice change from the usual chemical taste.
