用户评分: - my H.N.C course graded unit. I found how children learn book 2 to be of great benefit to me during my writing of my report on creativity. I already knew how good Linda Pounds Books were after having used how children learn book 1 on theorists for my theory reports and many more people on my course have found the book useful also. I have to say Amazon has been a great source throught my H.N.C and have many great books available.
- Simple, useful and important. Subjects such as Philosophy of Education and Education History have become unfashionable in teacher training courses, so many young teachers will not be familiar with some of the names covered here, and even less familiar with their ideas. They will be unprepared to understand where new ideas are coming from and what the government are basing their latest wheeze on. This little book is concise, user friendly and directs towards a host of other sources. It should be compulsory reading for serving and student teachers.

- A useful study resource on theorists and their influence. A clear and well set out book detailing approximately 20 theorists who have had influences in the way we approach early years education.
I would normally dip in and out of text books but this one I was happy to read as it s set out in such a undemanding and informative way.

- Their theory
- How those theories have been put into practise and their influence
The author also critiques the theories and provides web sites and books to find out more about each one.
Whilst it s definitely a useful book and one I ve found interesting, I had hoped to find some information on Maslow, Rogers or Kelly so was slightly disappointed they weren t mentioned.
