Customer Ratings: - Great game, few minor flaws, but very fun to play. This is the first rally game I ve played since VRally 99 for N64. But I was staring this title down at Circuit City and decided to buy it. I did not realize until I got home and looked up the reviews (yes, after already buying it, lol) that it was a member of the Colin McRae family of Rally games. Well anyway, it s a GREAT game, and a lot of fun to play. Here s my pros and cons, take them for what they re worth:
Pros:
-The graphics are great, everything looks realistic, and the cars look fantastic
-Career mode is cool, forces you to use every vehicle in the game, and most of which are a lot of fun, I enjoyed most the Subaru Impreza (naturally).
Cons: These are minor and easily overlooked, but I would like to see them in the next game:
-I m almost finished with my career mode, and much to my surprise, not a single NIGHT rally. What gives? This rally game should include some night rallys where my only guiding light comes from my headlights, honestly, that d be awesome
-No snow rallys?! Again what gives, there s rally s with snowy enviroments, but none where you re actually driving on the snow and constantly drifting. At least 2 or 3 would have been nice.
-Floaty feeling cars. Like others have said, the cars feel a bit floaty but it doesn t detract from the fun of the game... it s challenging, and exciting.
The game is great. But the lack of night and snow rallys upset me. VRally 99 for N64 had both of these and they were great. Why can t this game have them. - good but not great. a great game to pick-up on a sale. gets repetitive after first 6 games in career mode. but if you like racing and getting sideways like the pros a definite buy.
- I m sooooo dirty. Other than Colin Mcrae s irritating great job, good going, you will get them next time, I think your ready for Pro AM, etc comments every time you are going into or coming out of a race - this game is a sweet, fun-filled ride.
The graphics are awesome, the game play is realistic and fun, and lastly the vehicles are a quality variety.
Why give you all the details of the game - it is totally worth the money. - Racing MUST OWN. Great damage details
Great Gameplay Great Variety of Racing Classes Great explanation by pastrana (the master) Needs More vehicles (but it does have all the best ones) Mini-Games? - Wonderfull scenarios, low driving realism. I bought this game because I loved Collin McRae Rally for PC. The scenarios are wonderfull, sometimes it seems like a movie, not CG. Unfortunatelly the driving miss realism. The car s damage simulation are fine but driving feels like the car is floating, it is very difficult to keep it on the road and light turns on the wheel makes the car slide like it was over ice. Compared to Forza Motorsport, Forza is much better in the driving simulation, even without a racing wheel controller you can feel more control over the car. I d give it 10 for the graphics and car damage simulation but only 5 for the driving simulation.
