L.J. Adlington has cleverly disguised a sci fi story about prejudice, discrimination and genetic inequality behind a light and easy to read piece of teenaged fiction. Our heroine is the smart-but-shy Kat, overshadowed by her more outgoing sister Tanka. While Tanka concentrates on her looks and popularity, Kat is haunted by the mystery that surrounds their new home. Their story is intersperced with chapters from the point of view of Luka, on her desperate quest to escape and get back at those who destroyed her life.
I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoyed The Handmaid s Tale , by Margaret Atwood, the Noughts and Crosses sequence by Malorie Blackman or The Declaration by Gemma Malley.

Reviewed by: Jennifer Rummel - excellent foloow up. this book is an excellent follow up to Pelly D, It kept me gripped until the very end, loads of suprises as well as a few laughs.

Cherry Heaven, the author s second novel and a sequel to The Diary of Pelly D, is a story that reached out and kept me reading, no matter how much I needed to put it down and do something else, bed or work for example.Cherry Heaven is a gripping thriller in which the pace builds from the introduction of two city girls to life on the new frontier to the finale where we have to think about evil that is done in the name of good and where we draw the line in investigating atrocities. Give this a try, you won t regret it, Luka s horrible childhood will keep you wanting to read more and at the end of it you ll have something real to think about.
