Global warming is a real danger, argues Gore, and human civilisation is the root cause of it. A dizzying and shocking array of facts relating to carbon emissions, the population explosion and the disintegration of the polar icecaps all add weight to his thesis. But Gore doesn’t present these facts merely to terrify the viewer. Instead, they’re meant to shock us out of complacency and into action. Indeed, the film ends with some very simple ways we can all contribute to averting this impending global catastrophe. And that, argues Gore, is the point of An Inconvenient Truth. • An Inconvenient Truth. A very good DVD. It got off to a slow start but got very much better as it progressed. Will enough people take note before it is too late?
• Very informative. An educational and interesting introduction into what can be a very complicated subject. This film is meant for everyone, not just the U.S. audience like some films and has some good extra s too. Al Gore is a very good speaker.
• A brilliant, engaging wake up call. There are very documentaries lasting over an hour that have held my attention all the way through. This film is superbly crafted and presents information in a way that is clear, accurate, understandable and completely watchable. It has been accused of being alarmist - yet I d much prefer to be appropriately alarmed by this necessary wake up call than falsely reassured. Climate Change is alarming, and this film challenges us to rise to the occasion.
• An eye-opener! A must-see for everyone!!. This is one of the best documentaries I ve had to watch over the past few years....I m a teacher at school and had to lead my students in reflecting on some essential environmental issues...This doc helped me achieve what I wanted to achieve...Make them conscious of the problems facing the world at present time...I think Al Gore is really very convincing in his expose and he manages to captivate the attention of the viewer from the first seconds to the end....Many students who felt environmental issue was of no interest to them started showing more interest after seeing this film....I advised everyone to watch it....a real must-see in my opinion!!
• AN ABSOLUTE TRUTH. A brilliant production that should be viewed by everyone...and compulsory teaching in schools, BEFORE IT IS REALLY TOO LATE!
