When I first experienced the acute phase of lower back pain, I went to an Emergency Room at a hosdpital and received a drug that left me in la-la land for a bit. It worked, serving as a muscle relaxant. But the la-la land part was not so wonderful (what can I say, I don t like drug-induced states of alternative consciousness!).
Since then, I have discovered that Ibuprofen can do the trick just about as well. A little rest plus Advil gives me relief (and it has been quite a few years since I have suffered acute lower back pain). In addition, this has helped me with rotator cuff discomfort and other aches and pains (with age, unhappily, aches and pains become more routine!).
So, I m a satisfied customer. . . . - Advil works for me.. Advil is a good product for me. Though rarely used in our home when it s needed it s great stuff.
- Feels So Good. Ordinarily I agree with James Koenig s reviews 1000 per cent. Not for nothing is he one one Amazon s top 100 reviewers. And yet, when he tells us we might as well just get the generic version of ibuprofen, as well as brand name Advil, I demur sharply.
Other reviewers recommend Advil for its ease of use, but I m here to tell you the main reason to buy it is that it is tasty and sweet, rather like a cherry. If common sense and doctors warnings didn t preclude it, I would be popping Advils all day just to get that delicious taste in my mouth, like a kid in a candy store.
First week of January I had an industrial accident at my office when a large box of heavy paper stock tumbled down onto my foot from a great height. Rushed to the hospital, I found myself weak and faint, and when the doctor told me that I should be having an Advil every four hours for the next three months, to reduce swelling and to heal the fracture, I perked up considerable. Now in front of me as I type, is a king size dispenser of Advil, used to be an oversized Pez dispenser in black and gold, wearing Tim Lincecum s uniform, which some friends had bought me on a trip to the SF Giants stadium here. Now it dispenses Advil and I find myself looking at the clock wishing it was four hours later already. I m hooked I guess, and a little piece of me wishes I could return to the days of youth when I needed nothing, no poppy or mandragora as Shakespeare says, but in the meantime I do enjoy a nice Advil every four hours, and as a side benefit, its healing atoms have sped the recovery of my swollen foot inside its sturdy surgical boot. - Advil Works. My life before Advil was rough. I was in the medical field, driving each day, working a different shift(s) each day, and on some days working 16-18 hours on little sleep. Headaches plagued me, along with sore muscles and a sore neck from having a hand always on the steering wheel.
Advil saved my life. There is no other pain reliever that cures my headaches within 30 minutes like Advil does. When I pop 2 Advils, I know with confidence that my headache will be gone in 20-30 minutes. And it works 99.9% of the time.
Advil cures stress headaches, sinus headaches, caffeine headaches, headaches from little sleep, and headaches from too much intense work. The only thin Advil doesn t handle as well as I d like is muscle aches. Despite this drawback, Advil is the best in my book. I always keep a bottle with me in my car, at work, and where ever I go.
